Dear Supporter, I have summarised the feedback I have received from Ealing council below. The meeting took place on 23rd June attended by FM Conway's Head of Operations and Site Manager, representatives from Ealing and Hillingdon councils and a representative from The Environment Agency. Hillingdon council have engaged an independent consultant to undertake compliance of IPPC installations including the Conway plant, FM Conway representatives discussed existing carbon filter, replacement and options by the manufacturers (to be further advised) and opportunities to improve filtered air emissions/odours, including rerouting of vents (to be advised). It is not clear if 'to be advised' refers to Conway seeking advice from manufacturers or the independent consultant or advising the other meeting participants at a later date, of action to be taken. The e-mail I received about the meeting, has given no timelines or a clearly defined action plan with deadlines. It is imperative that residents continue to lodge complaints directly with both Hillingdon and Ealing councils because this data is vital and absolutely essential to supporting our case for better pollution control. If possible try to make contact with the councils at the time you detect the smell or if it is not possible, keep a record of dates and times of incidents and convey this information to the council. We definitely need more signatures! Yesterday, apart from one resident, everyone I spoke to on my road, was aware of the smell and readily signed the paper petition.
