Highwood City Council: Do NOT allow video gambling in Highwood

The Issue

Despite the public repeatedly and overwhelmingly speaking out against video gambling in Highwood, an upcoming Highwood City Council meeting on Nov 5th indicates that the City Council will try to "fast-track" an ordinance to repeal Highwood's current ban on video gambling. This could have a potentially devastating impact. Highwood will be the only town on the North Shore that allows for video gambling. This will hurt property values in Highwood and surrounding towns. Families will choose not to move to the area. As such, we call upon Highwood aldermen and the mayor to vote against video gambling in Highwood.
