Petition updateHighway 9: The Highway to HeavenOETA Interview

Hello everyone!

My name is Brittany Murillo. I am Tiffany’s older sister and the founder of the petition to fix HWY 9. You are receiving this update because you either signed or gave to the petition- both of which we are very grateful for!

I wanted to take a few minutes to update everyone on where we are in this journey. After meeting with Norman City Council in March we left hopeful that our voices had been heard. We truly felt that they understood the urgency we expressed to fix this portion of HWY 9.

Fast forward a few months later to now. Today I had an interview with OETA to cover our petition and our desire for change along the highway. I learned that the city has increased their police presence along heavily commuted areas & that they are collectively considering a barrier down those few miles where 700+ collisions have happened since 2019.

The interview with OETA will air on Friday, June 14th @ 7 p.m. It will also air again on Saturday & Sunday @ 5 p.m. in case you miss the Friday night viewing. I urge you to tune in and watch the segment. The more people tuning in, the better the ratings, the more they continue to listen. ODOT,  along with a member of the Norman City Council will be on the interview as well as myself.

Lastly, I wanted to say a special thank you to every one of you who are receiving this email. Your continued support and outpouring of love has made this fight possible. We are slowly seeing the changes be made and we are watching the real-life difference it makes when we refuse to accept “no” for an answer.

From the very bottom of my heart- thank you again. Think of how many lives we are going to see saved! WE are making it possible.

Blessings,

Brittany Murillo
