NMIMS' ASMSOC Class of 2019 Convocation

NMIMS' ASMSOC Class of 2019 Convocation
The Issue
The most important day for a student is their graduation day where they can feel proud and accomplished to have gone through one of the toughest transitions in their life. Not just the student, but the parents, who sometimes have spent their lives on making their kids capable enough to graduate proudly, look forward to this day very eagerly. But this year, SVKM's NMIMS' ASMSOC has (for some technical reason) decided to have the "convocation ceremony" in a small auditorium which can fit just students in it and has asked the parents to watch it online. What is even the point of having this ceremony anyway? We want to have our parents and family members there on our biggest day and make them proud. We don't want a ceremony which is only held for the sake of it. We have paid a lot of money towards the fees, enough to be able receive one proper ceremony at least. This sounds a bit unbelievable that an institute as big and expensive as NMIMS is not able to afford an auditorium big enough to accommodate the students and parents for a few hours. It might only be a few hours of one day but for thousands of students and their parents it is a memory for a lifetime. We all deserve this after going through the tough curriculum and paying high fees to get a bare minimum service of a good graduation.
I know most of my fellow batch mates share the same emotion so this is my attempt to gather our voices together and let the higher management know how important this is for us and our families. I urge everyone to sign this petition and share it as much as you can with our juniors as well because today it is us, tomorrow it will be them. We all need to unite and try to bring this change because every student and their family deserves an amazing convocation as a reward for the hard work we have put into our studies and the money that has been put in the institution.
