Indian higher education suffers in quality on many fronts. There is no uniform standard for the students passed out of different universities and Institutions due to multiple reasons. As it is beyond the scope of university education to correct many education gaps in students; universities tend to reduce pass out criteria to ensure some success in their endeavour. 

The above methodology used by universities produces many graduates who are unemployable by the Industry and end up not adding any value to society.

Hence, Indian higher education system needs a transition into fixed duration credit based system. Students who complete the duration in the university can be awarded Degree, Diploma or Certificate in the chosen program based on the credits scored during the duration of the program.

This will improve the quality of education and Reduce the burden on national education infrastructure.

This change will also reduce the stress on the students and teachers and enable them to work with much more objectivity.
