Have the High School of Fashion Industries Remove their course in BLOOD FASHION FUR

To Principal Daryl Blank,

Attention to Rosa Chavez
We’re shocked and very disappointed to find out that the High School of Fashion Industries plan to teach their students how to participate in one of the cruelest industries; The fur trade, a.k.a. ‘Blood Fashion’. An education program should teach the value of compassion over cruelty and be founded on ethical undeniable facts: like, that the fur industry is inherently horrific cruel barbaric and backward and that all animals victims of fur suffer extreme physical and emotional anguish and that it is environmentally harmful too. Hence being immoral, irresponsible, and indeed outdated “fashion”.
A great example proving that your decision to bring back the outdated shame of real fur, is a huge mistake is that Parsons School of Design, the globally famous top fashion institution and trend setter, had gone Fur Free years ago.The School’s dean of fashion since 2015, Burcak Cakmak had initiated the cruelty-free curriculum after he championed environmental and sustainable fashion during his tenure at Gucci, Stella McCartney and YAL and other luxury name brands, he mentioned: "We are teaching the future leaders of the fashion industry,"that they can have a positive impact on the environment by not using animal products, and still create beautiful designs.” Therefore, any reputable school of design need follow this responsible initiative.
Today, fur has come to symbolize, ignorance and arrogance. Leading fashion names like Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Burberry, Versace, Donna Karan, DKNY, Diane von Furstenberg, Michael Kors, John Galliano, Jean Paul Gaultier, Chanel and many more, have joined the many other Fur Free fashion houses, all evidence that the Fashion Industry is realizing that being beautiful is more than skin deep and that the barbaric cruelty of Fur has no place in today’s fashion. Indeed more and more global locations are banning the sale of fur, including fashion forward Los Angeles, San Francisco and West Hollywood, the entire UK is about to ban the sale of fur and California has introduced a bill to ban fur statewide, too. The world is becoming increasingly ethically aware that Fur = BLOOD FASHION and that it is on the way out, logically any school of design that trains the designer of tomorrow need be Fur Free.
Please do not accept to teach the unacceptable violence of outdated Blood Fashion, we hope that you will listen to the students asking you to reconsider your decision. Please be respective to the public outcry against Fur. The barbaric caveman era is finally over. Do not be fooled by the desperate moves of a few furriers. The Future is Fur Free.

The Solution:

It is reprehensible, unethical and irresponsible to attempt to indoctrinate your impressionable pupils that the use of Blood Fashion Fur is acceptable. Furthermore you do them a disservice in leading them down a path of a dying trade. Hence, I offer the solution in urging you to guide your pupils in the use of ethical faux fur like the leading names of fashion today, to truly prepare them for a viable future.

Looking forward to your reply
