So following the case of Grace Millane I am compelled to recirculate our calls for a Serial Stalkers and Domestic Abuse Register as her killer Jesse Kempson is a serial perpetrator however some media outlets thought it ok to try and destroy Grace's reputation by publicly looking to shame her by using her past.

You have to ask the question why?

I'll tell you why!  This falls into the narrative of the defence that it was a sex game gone wrong.  Which seems to be the new defence used by barristers in these cases, just read the case of Natalie Connelly; the victim of millionaire John Broadhurst who said it was a sex game gone wrong, RUBBISH.  She had 40 separate injuries including serious internal trauma, a fractured eye socket and facial wounds.  He said were from 'falling over'

Since 1972 there have been 59 women killed by men who have used 'rough sex' as a defence.   These women are not alive to recount what happened however what we do know is those who survived have said they did NOT consent.  This is a new male justification for murder!

It is NOT a game being murdered, to kill through strangulation takes force and his hands must have been on her between 5-10 minutes for her life to have drained.  No-one NO-ONE consents to murder!  This defence should be dismissed, in fact he should be faced with an additional charge of perverting the course of justice in my view.

What we should be focussing on is the past of the offender, there is always a back story.  They are rarely one time offenders.

I am disgusted and appalled at some of the media's handling of Grace's case and to hide his [the perpetrator] identity is a down right disgrace and abhorrent given his [Jesse Kempson] background, as it screams volumes.

It now becomes apparent on talking to friends, relatives, women he dated and ex-partners of Kempson that he is in fact a predator and a danger to women. "He is creepy around girls" "He asked about choking" "I was scared around him" "I thought he'd become violent" "he asked if he could be violent" "I was scared he would just turn up" all words from people who knew Kempson.  Not the character of the innocent is it!  I listened to his police interview and it gave me chills.

Now we are facing an election and a new government it is time to pick up the pace of this campaign and ask that we introduce the Register as A MATTER OF URGENCY.    Please write to your MP and ask for this to be included.  This could one day be one of your family members please don't wait until then to take action.  Women and girls are being murdered today and the pattern is being missed as the police do not have the tools to monitor this pattern and escalation.  We must close down the space for this type of offending.

You can find details how to write to your MP here

Send them the link to this petition or even ask them to contact me directly.  I have been campaigning alongside John and Penny Clough (Parents of Jane Clough) and Laura Richards (Founder of Paladin the National Stalking Advocacy Service) for many years and each and every time we hear of another murder its unbelievable to us knowing that had these patterns been picked up earlier, it is possible these women may still be alive.  I'm lucky I'm alive to tell my story and the media cannot paint what ever story they feel just to sell papers or get clicks, these women are not.

Help us!

The Register wasn't included in the new Domestic Abuse Bill which should have been introduced in July, so we must call again for the Government to add the Serial Stalker and Domestic Abuse Register to the Bill so that these offenders can be tracked and monitored.  These offences are never in isolation and they often escalate as we hear in all of these cases there is a history and we need the police to have the power to hold this Intelligence in order to keep potential future victims safe.

At the moment theses offences are all looked at in isolation.  We must be looking at historic behaviour and the only way to do this is by monitoring these offences as a pattern to understand the risk and dangers posed.

We need to STOP focussing on the victim and put the onus and obligation to change on the perpetrators.  How will anything change if we do not?!  Victims are not responsible for these crimes the OFFENDERS are.

Please sign, share and PLEASE write to your MP

Thank you for your support
