HAPPY NEW YEAR…
A wonderful start to 2025, joyful patrons rejoiced as they enjoyed an unexpected repast at the Grenadier Café on New Years Day…….Thrilled to discover that the park had mistakenly remained open to vehicles…, many delighted visitors enjoyed being able to drive in, enjoy the park and dine at their much loved restaurant, which has been out of reach for many families to enjoy on weekends and holidays for four years…..
Every day visitors in the Café mourn the old days when they could bring both Grandma and their small children to the café for a family outing….With no public transport within the 399 acre park, inadequate public transport and expensive paid parking only on the perimeter , taking the family to High Park is no longer a pleasurable or affordable outing…..so the park is often empty and underused.
Over 23,500 park lovers have signed this Petition requesting the City to return High Park to its former glory, this Petition and the numerous correspondence being sent to the City is currently disregarded by City, but remember there is an election next year and we will fight on……Do your part and write today to your Councillors, Mayor_chow@toronto.ca and highparkmove@toronto.ca, tell them what YOU think !
And spread the word to your friends and family….We will fight on, and on and on....till the park is Accessible to ALL.....
Best for 2025, Diane
