In 2013, a siRNA topical solution was patented after it was seen to reduce sweating greatly in a human patient. This solution has still not yet been brought to clinical trials. We’d like to bring attention to this so the research team behind this topical solution can get more support to bring this solution to many people who suffer from hyperhidrosis and are not currently helped by the treatments available today. Moving this siRNA mixture into clinical trials will benefit many people affected by Hyperhidrosis.

What is this siRNA mixture?

This siRNA mixture is Patent US9809820B2 and belongs to Niklas Dahl. We hope this petition can bring attention to his team and research so they can move this patent into clinical trials.

“Simplified: siRNA is a sequence of RNA that interferes with the expression of a gene causing the misproduction of the protein that is coded by the gene.” – dothebestforyourhope from Hyperhidrosis Subreddit

This siRNA sequence stops the production of the ITPR2 protein that causes the sweating in the eccrine sweat gland. The siRNA mixtures stops sweating from the sweat gland itself and greatly improves the lives of human patients.

What is Hyperhidrosis?

“In some people, the body’s mechanism for cooling itself is overactive — so overactive that they may sweat four or five times more than is necessary, or normal. When sweating is this extreme it can be embarrassing, uncomfortable, anxiety-inducing, dangerous, and disabling. It often disrupts all aspects of a person's life, from career choices and recreational activities to relationships, emotional well-being, and self-confidence. This kind of excessive sweating is a serious medical condition. It's called hyperhidrosis and it afflicts millions of people around the world (nearly 5% of the world's population). But, due to lack of awareness among sufferers and lack of education among medical professionals, most people are never diagnosed or relieved of their symptoms.” – International Hyperhidrosis Society
