  Let's bring HGTV to Streator, Illinois! Our "Hardscrabble" town is working hard to come back to life.  We have empty storefronts waiting for a new lease on life. Many are still in need of facelifts, renovations and repairs. We have a large variety of architecture styles on historical buildings both commercial and residential. Being chosen for the HGTV Hometown Makeover will help us bring the hustle and bustle back to our streets. Local entrepreneurs are opening businesses of their own and  investing in Main Street. However, there is still more to be done.  Streator people have a willingness to take on any challenge and with a little help from HGTV will transform our community.
