Long live Throop Mill!

The Issue

Dear Mr Heygate and Family,

i am writing to you to appeal to your good nature to consider the possibility of handing the ownership of Throop Mill to the people of Bournemouth.   Throop Mill is quite a stunning place steeped in historical beauty.  This dormant building stands on the lonely patch of land with breathtaking views all around, in overgrown vegetation in such an unloved state.  Due to the nature of what this building and what it did all those many years ago we the people who live in the local area would dearly love to see it thrive once again.  The idea would be to breathe new life into the building and all around it, convert the building into an education centre, and keeping all the machinery in place for educational purposes.  It would have a delightful tea room that overlooks the river. Many walkers, dog walkers, families, couples, young and old and cyclists pass through here and I personally feel regenerating the mill would attract much tourist and local attraction and provide an injection of interest in the local area. It doesn't make sense for the owners to neither sell it nor redevelop it, but just hanging on it and making sure of its upkeep. It needs new life, new ideas and new energy. Please consider this petition. Thank you.
