The Issue

The land located at Trumbull Drive and Corinthian Street in Spring Hill, Tract A unit 10, is a designated bird sanctuary. It is the home of many birds and animals that will be displaced and affected by this sale. As an avid photographer, I have photographed hawks, pileated and red bellied woodpeckers, cardinals, Eastern blue birds and brown thrashers in this area of woods. Turtles, snakes, raccoons, rabbits and squirrels inhabit this land. All these animals will lose their homes. The tree located on the West side along Fergason Ave is over 100 years old and is a majestic landmark in our neighborhood.

In addition to the affect that this sale/purchase will have on the wildlife that live there it will also affect our traffic. Our street is quiet and peaceful with minimal traffic. If this land is purchased and 10-20 homes are built on it, Fergason Avenue will become a feed street with increased traffic flow to accommodate these homes. We need to stop this sale/ purchase. A board meeting will take place at the the John A Law Ayers County commission Chambers, in the Hernando county government Center at 9 am on July 14th to discuss the sale/purchase of this land. Please attend this meeting and voice your concerns and stop our board of commissioners from allowing  this sale/purchase of this precious land.
