Newspapers such as the Herald Sun, Daily Mail and Express Digest all published an article about Taylor Farrell, a pedophile who raped a child at least once a week for more than two years. Instead of using the words Rape however, they called it “sex” which is false information.

There is no sex with a minor, it is rape. By using the word Sex it is insinuating that the rape was consensual and that it is okay to rape a minor. It can also be very confusing for some people and spread the idea that raping a minor is acceptable. 
It’s  important that these papers stop spreading misinformation and start using the correct terms. I understand that rape is hard to talk about, but that is exactly why we need to talk about it.
