Justice For Thien Tran

Justice For Thien Tran
The Issue
On 10/06/20 Varsity Student Athlete, Thien Tran, was subjected up to a 30 day suspension depending on the police investigation. For what you may ask? For the unjust treatment of a mere accident. Counting the many hardships Covid has caused, online learning is one of them. Thien Tran, in the comfort of his home, was taking notes from his teachers lecturing. Due to the fact he tries his best to stay involved, He took his laptop with him in the restroom to be sure he wouldn’t miss out of any important notes. He was never taught how to use the application “Microsoft Teams” therefore he was caught on the school laptop defecating. Students had taken images of the accident and mocked, shamed, and ultimately bullied him. Only to make things worse instead of the school helping Thien Tran, he has been suspended. Cyber Bullying is still a huge issue in our current society especially since we live in a more virtual world than ever before. The school and the county has ignored Thien Trans cry for help, but we as a community is here to stop the bullying. 5/100 Students are cyber bullied everyday and ultimately leads to suicide. We will take a stand against cyber bullying for our good friend, teammate, and fellow student.
