I would like the unlawful killing of human beings without a weapon to be against the law.

I would like the unlawful killing of human beings without a weapon to be against the law.

The Issue

During the last 401 years, since the first slaves were brought into this country in bondage and against their will, Black People have suffered and endured unjustly. Being considered for a time in our U.S. Constitution as 3/5’s of a human being, our humanity, our heritage, and history had been stripped from us as we embraced the surnames of our colonizers and oppressors.

African Americans built this country, yet we were subjected to slavery, lynchings, our women being raped and tortured, not being allowed to vote, not being able to marry outside of our race, not having equal education opportunities, not having up to date and adequate resources or access to jobs, healthcare, and careers that are comparable to that of our counterparts. We have never been treated as human beings, we have been subjected to racial profiling, shown every conceivable inequity, and discrimination there is.

We have suffered from racism, classism, gender bias, heteronormativity, systemic oppression, low socio-economic disadvantages, redlining, and being shot down based on living while Black just to name a few. Although these issues seems to be specific to the plight of African American people across the nation, the killing of unarmed human beings, is a human rights problem.

Please help us put a stop to the unlawful killings of perceived or assumed criminals, unlawful criminals,  and/or innocent people by the police or civilians in pursuit of a lawful and/or justified arrest, or “a citizens arrest” of any individual who does not pose as a threat, or any individual who is not in possession of a weapon of any kind.

If We lose, it will be apparent that after over 401 years since the first slaves were brought to America, that not much has changed in terms of the way society views us, devalues us, and does not want to extend us the right to live in this country, free from oppression, discrimination, or racial profiling. It will be more than apparent that there is no deliberate speed to right the many injustices that have plagued people of color and this nations American-born citizens whose ancestors built this country. If We lose, just know that the anger will persist among people of color, the voices of the unheard will continue to desperately seek an audience with councilmen, the mayor, the governor, senators, law makers, legislators, and city officials. I fear that if We lose, citizens will began to take the law into their own hands and seek to right the many wrongs brought upon us by infringing upon our God-given rights. We should not fear the very liberties, that we are so-called afforded and born into through citizenship.

We must win!!! United we stand! Divided we fall!
