Helping To Put A Pending Law Into Action To Protect Animals From Convicted Animal Abusers
The Issue
I learned that according to many sources including veterinarians.org it is estimated that “Over 10 million animals die from animal cruelty acts in the United States alone.’’ Though only 16,543 cases were reported in the year 2021.
The animals most commonly subjected to cruelty acts are dogs, cats, and horses. Though we must keep in mind that just because those specific animals are most commonly subjected to animal abuse it isn't limited to other animals.
Seeing these numbers made me think that I need to help and take part on improving these laws to help keep animals safe from cruelty acts.
Through my time doing research I stumbled upon a pending law. The Bill H.1703 193rd (Current) I would like to help partake in helping to put this law into action in Massachusetts.
“This Bill is An Act relative to the legislation to protect animals from convicted animal abusers.” To learn more about this pending bill go to (malegislature.gov).
This bill will make it, so people convicted of animal abuse by law won't be able to receive, buy, or adopt an animal for a certain period of time.
If this bill is put into place, it will most likely prevent a significant amount of animal abuse cases.
We have to do something about this Animals can't speak for themselves we must be their voice.
