We must stop youtube from allowing big companies like CBS Television Distribution and etc to copystrike youtubers just so they can earn a quick buck. Companies are able to abuse copystrike since they can reject an appeal from the youtuber they copystrike rather than Youtube themselves. So basically, if the youtuber decided to appeal their case from being copystriked to youtube, youtube will let the company who copystrike that youtuber to reject that appeal and collect the revenue of that youtuber.

So why are companies copystriking youtubers? Basically, a company can copystike youtubers for using their song, video and etc for unfair use.(Ex: Claiming the song, video or etc their using is theirs even though it isn't theirs) While this seems like a fair law, it isn't since most of these companies keep copystriking youtubers for using their song, video and etc for fair use(Ex: Claiming the song they're using isn't theirs, creating a parody of the video, song and etc, singing the song, using that song, video and etc for just a few seconds and etc)

The problem with the youtube copyright laws is that youtube isn't the one deciding whether or not that youtuber is using that video, song, music and etc for fair use, it's the company that copystriked the video that decides whether or not it's fair use. This makes it easier for companies to copystrike youtubers for fast money. These abused copyright laws has created conflicts with the youtube community which includes...

  1. Youtubers losing their revenue. Since being a youtuber is considered a job, many youtubers lose their revenue from getting their video copystriked, even though their using that song, video and etc for fair use. This also forces youtubers to leave youtube since they're not earning money from making videos thanks to copystrikes.
  2. Limited creativity. Since youtube is all about expressing yourself, the copyright laws contradict self expresson as youtubers usually express themselves with music, singing the song, creating a parody, using someone else's video to create memes. But due to the companies copystriking youtubers, this makes it harder to create self expresson. Even singing the song with no music is considered unfair use.
  3. Videos or livestreams getting banned because of a song, music, video and etc for appearing in that video or livestream. There are many videos and livestreams that are no longer available to youtube because of being copystriked for unfair use, even though it is fair use. Youtubers that worked hard on creating that video are forced to shut down their video, even though they're using that song, music, video and etc for fair use. Even having a song, music and clip for 2 seconds is considered unfair use.

If youtube decided to be the judge of whether or not that youtuber is using that song, video, music and etc for fair use. We could've prevented so many unfair copystrikes which includes youtubers losing their revenue and creativity.

Youtube needs to act now. Companies are stealing youtuber's hard earned money and creativity.
