Help Us Turn This Forgotten Spot Into a Community Park!
(Please don't feel the need to donate, It's a Change.org feature that cannot be turned off)
Hey everyone,
There’s a small, abandoned lot in Cottonade, once a home before Hurricane Ana back in 2011. What’s left is mostly the old garage area, now graffitied and overlooked. But to me, it’s always had a peaceful vibe and holds special memories.
Growing up, my family and I would ride bikes through the neighborhood and stop here to rest. It was a quiet little break spot surrounded by trees and a nice view of the highway exits. I’ve always imagined it becoming something more, something for everyone. Right now, the city owns the property but hasn’t taken any action with it. I started this to raise awareness and show that this space should be turned into something meaningful for the community, especially one as large as ours.
That’s why I’m asking for your signature. I want to turn this space into a neighborhood park where families can come together, kids can play, and people can relax. It’s in a visible spot that catches your eye from the highway, not for attention, but to show something we need more of: community, togetherness, and safe spaces to simply enjoy life.
As a junior graphic design student, I’d love to help bring this idea to life in a creative and meaningful way. This project means a lot to me, and with your support, we can make it real.
Sign the petition and let’s build something beautiful for Cottonade.
