Tomahawk Elementary has been recommended for closure at the end of the 2026–27 school year, but the final decision has not yet been made.

We understand the district is facing difficult decisions surrounding enrollment, finances and the future of its schools. This petition isn’t about ignoring those challenges—it’s about asking the Board of Education to take another look before making an irreversible decision.

Tomahawk is a strong neighborhood school with dedicated teachers and staff, engaged families, specialized programming and a community that has been built over generations. Closing it will impact hundreds of students and families, as well as the surrounding schools that would welcome displaced students.

We are asking the Board to fully consider those impacts, listen to the Tomahawk community, explore every reasonable alternative and ensure all options have been exhausted before voting to close our school.

The decision isn’t final. Our voices still matter. And Tomahawk is worth fighting for.
