HELP US ASK FOR A FAIR REVIEW OF SHI ODOM'S TERMINATION
The Issue
After more than 15 years of dedicated service to the Carteret County Library System, Shi Odom is no longer serving at the Beaufort Branch Library.
For many people in our community, Shi was much more than a Branch Manager. She was a familiar face, an encourager, a problem-solver, a champion for children and families, and someone who consistently helped connect people with their library and community.
Shi began her library career as a high school intern and worked her way up through years of dedication and service.
Now, we are asking the Carteret County Board of Commissioners and appropriate county officials to review the circumstances surrounding the end of her employment and ensure that all applicable policies and procedures were followed.
This petition is not about attacking anyone. It is about asking questions, requesting appropriate oversight, and making sure the voices of the people who knew and were served by Shi are heard.
If Shi has touched your life, helped your child, supported your family, assisted you at the library, helped you find information, encouraged you to participate in a program, or simply made you feel welcome at the Beaufort Branch Library, please consider signing and sharing this petition.
Your story matters.
Your voice matters.
And more than 15 years of service to our community deserves to be acknowledged.
Please sign. Please share. And please continue to speak respectfully about the impact Shi has had on our community. ❤️
