The New Zealand government has announced that it will be sending 30 troops to the UK to train Ukrainian soldiers on using the L119 Howitzer.

It is good to see NZ taking a more active role.

I think NZ could airlift our surplus LAV3s either via a Ukrainian Antonov AN-124 or an Australian Globemaster to the UK. The UK will have airlift capability also. Once the vehicles and spare parts are in the UK we could train up Ukrainian personnel in their use alongside our UK partners who are already training Ukrainian servicemen on UK vehicles.

I think if NZ did this it is quite possible Canada would follow suit and send their LAV2 or LAV3 vehicles, which could make a big difference.

Also, Denmark will possibly send 25 Piranha 3 vehicles to Ukraine. The Canadian LAV3 is a licensed version of this vehicle, so there would be quite a lot of overlap here.

There are still 198 supporters to go to reach 1000. After it reaches 1000 I will update parliament again.

If you haven’t shared the petition yet, please consider doing so as it will help a lot to get to 1000.

Cheers,

Finn
