Help twice as many dogs & cats in the city of Maricopa

Help twice as many dogs & cats in the city of Maricopa
The Issue
The City of Maricopa’s population has drastically increased with more new housing on the horizon. Maricopa currently only has ONE Animal Control Officer to support over 60,000 (and growing) residents. Many surrounding cities have multiple officers and we are asking the City of Maricopa to add at least one additional officer.
Due to the shortage in Animal Care personnel, coupled with the large volume of strays and pets that escape- one officer cannot possibly keep up. As a result, citizens are putting themselves in danger and frequently calling the police non-emergency line for help. Citizens have chased strays/lost animals out of traffic on both City streets and the 347. Some efforts have been successful while others ended tragically for the animals. We need equal resources to keep pace with our expanding population. The attached photo is one of the cases where unfortunately only one of the dogs had a positive outcome.
Please sign our petition and help us show the City we need and want their help.
Thank you!
