Help to have a Dermatologist on call at Royal Victoria Infirmary NHS Newcastle upon Tyne.

The Issue

Welcome,

My name is James. H.

Today is my worst day. I woke and couldn't breathe due to the infestation in my airways.

I called 999 and they can't help. They had a so called professional call, he couldn't help either, he said call 111 of go to A&E, the last 2 visits to A&E I was refused treatment and given medication that is not helping.

I have called the Doctor twice today and they are refusing to call the on call Registrar Dermatologist for advice on how to treat me today.

The receptionist put the phone down on me, and they are refusing to call the Registrar.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE SEEN IMMEDIATELY?

NOBODY IS HELPING!

Humans work best together, not alone. To build a strong society, the relationship between one another must have solid reciprocity. One man cannot resolve all problems solely, community is unity.

I have created this petition so I can hopefully help people in need. With enough support, hopefully the NHS at Newcastle upon Tyne will place a Dermatologist to attend patients in need at that moment and not make them wait weeks as I have. Going through this anytime is very soul crushing, with no sleep, not eating, and awful nightmares, especially when you haven't seen your children or parents in fear of passing it on.

I have a skin condition where demodex overpopulate, causing my life to be turned upside down and unable to see loved ones.

I first saw a Nurse two weeks ago, she prescribed aqueous cream and antihistamines which didn't help.

I then saw GP who prescribed permethrin and soolantra cream, the creams helped a little, though not fully resolved. I read many articles from official sources, which said: The most effective method is to use metronidazole with permethrin cream and oral ivermectin, which should bring most, (not all) patients to no symptoms, which could take weeks or months.

I saw the Nurse again and she brought in the Doctor. I asked him for cream (and oral ivermectin) as I have to apply it daily, one tube is 30g so it doesn't go far. He said he couldn't prescribe anything until I saw a Dermatologist, which could take weeks, perhaps months.

I then called the first Doctor and asked the same, he too said the same and was rude, accusing me that it was in my brain.

I went to A&E as on top of my condition, my right ear was bleeding, and my left ear was almost deaf. the Doctor there gave me metronidazole, which sort of helped but not resolved. He asked what did I need, that I could have either metronidazole or ivermectin tablets, He said metronidazole in his opinion was best, so I believed his word with his experience.

I was not treated for my ears on this visit.

I went back to A&E the next evening for the same two issues, again.

I was not treated this time either for my ears.

The Doctor was rude here too. He said tell me how best to treat you.

I began talking and he interrupted me halfway through, and said: I don't want to hear about that part.

I thought that was very rude and I told him I don't like his attitude, especially after everything I told him.

Please help support not just me, but many others that are struggling to be seen for this condition, and other skin conditions, so that nobody has to go through anymore unnecessary suffering.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

James. H.
