The Issue

Bullitt East High School is located in Mount Washington KY, and is frequently known for their good reputation surrounding sports. They take pride in this, and the care that they put into creating a nice environment for the students that attend this facility. However, is this really the case?

In recent times, almost every academic year a child that goes to this school takes their own life, yet it never gets properly addressed. Yes they may share a mere ‘moment of silence for the victim’ over announcements, but what comfort does that truly bring to the child’s family, friends, classmates, or teachers? Nothing ever really gets done by the school to support those suffering from the loss. Not to mention, nothing was done that could’ve prevented the tragedy that took place.

As someone who recently graduated from this school, seeing such young people take their own lives and nothing be done about it is gut wrenching to the core. They had so much living left to do, yet those in charge of running Bullitt East don’t do anything to remember these children’s legacies, what they were, and what they could’ve been. No one deserves to feel so alone that the only answer is seemingly suicide.

Please help to bring awareness for not only the ones who have passed, but for the pain that their loved ones have experienced. Those who are suffering deserve to be heard.
