This petition is gaining rapid momentum — thank you to everyone who has been signing and sharing. Global pressure is working, and we need to keep going.
The New York Times has now confirmed that the lodge in question is owned and operated not only by Marriott/Ritz-Carlton, but also by a Kenyan-based company: Lazizi Mara Limited, led by Shivan Patel.
This makes Lazizi Mara a primary party responsible for the alleged environmental and legal violations happening inside this protected wildlife corridor.
We have not been able to locate a direct email for Mr. Patel or Lazizi Mara Limited, but Shivan Patel is publicly reachable via LinkedIn.
➡️ Supporters are encouraged to respectfully contact him there to express concerns and demand accountability.

Important Note on Gag Order Concerns
Based on information circulating within conservation and advocacy networks, it appears that:
Dr. Meitamei Olol Dapash, the Maasai environmental defender leading the legal challenge,
and possibly other Maasai leaders,
have been issued a gag order by the court restricting their ability to speak publicly about the situation.
Official court documents have not yet been made publicly available, so this cannot be stated as fully confirmed — but the consistent reports from conservation circles are deeply troubling. Silencing Indigenous voices is a documented tactic used globally to suppress environmental justice movements.
If these restrictions are in place, then public advocacy becomes even more essential.
We must continue raising awareness, because those closest to the issue may no longer be legally permitted to speak.
Why This Matters
The lodge is built inside a wildlife corridor, blocking migration routes used by elephants, wildebeest, zebra, hippos, and other species.
This is not a “claim” — this is documented environmental impact.
The more signatures, visibility, and public pressure we generate, the harder it becomes for corporations or local authorities to ignore the ecological destruction and the silencing of Indigenous defenders.

Keep speaking up — especially if Maasai leaders have been legally restricted from doing so
Wildlife corridors are not negotiable.
They are the arteries of the Great Migration — and once destroyed, they cannot be rebuilt.
Thank you for using your voice when others may be prevented from using theirs. Let's keep going.
