The number of homeless people on the streets in the United States is over half of a MILLION! To rent a home in Missouri you have to make 3 times the rent in the month with rent being super high as it is. I have had a home for 17 years and I raised all my kids in it with one being severely autistic. I dont have consistent child care for her so I'm unable to work most jobs but have been able to work part time. They raise the rent everywhere and mine was super low before i was evicted. I am homeless now with an autistic child and a 16 year old. Ive been trying to get into a house and i dont make three times the rent but can make rent but thats not good enough. I dont know whats going on or why but i do know that not all people want to be homeless and for them to make a law banning them from sleeping in their cars in a public place or parking lot or in front of someones house is ridiculous, or a tent in the woods. Something needs to change whether it is removing the three times the rent rule or allowing people to sleep in their cars/tent if they are homeless but something has to change and with this petition i hope to do that.
