Help Support Massachusetts's Homeless Shelters

Help Support Massachusetts's Homeless Shelters
The Issue
Labeled a "state public health crisis" by the state of Massachusetts, homelessness because of domestic violence is a prominent issue in our community. In just a day, nearly two thousand Massachusetts residents will face domestic violence and visit a shelter. With these staggering numbers, it's easy to see why Massachusetts's homeless and domestic abuse shelters are struggling to help all of these people in need. By supporting the bill "DPH Line Item 4513-1130", you can help increase funding for sexual and domestic violence support and services. The requested budget increase amount is $5,500,000. With this budget increase, the services are planned to improve so hopefully no person has to be rejected a place in a shelter due to capacity issues.
We can't end homelessness altogether, but with 63% of homeless women and 28% of homeless families claiming that domestic abuse is liable for their homelessness, we can help eliminate a giant cause. Please consider supporting our cause. Thank you.
