hello, my name is felicia. my husband is justin. and my 2 year old son is Kane. i am writing this due to how the dcp&p system has let us down time and time again and certain ways they operate really need to be reviewed. i will not rest till i bring this to someone’s attention and it is fixed. back in march, we were renovating a trailer we bought in atlantic county. total rehab. the neighbors and us all have a good relationship as we have owned this trailer for some months prior but due to money issues just got to work recently. so back on the weekend of the 11th of march, we brought the bedrooms, bathroom, and floors throughout to studs and sub floor. that following monday, my husband wanted to take a nap & i wanted to clean up the demo. so i asked him to go in his truck so i could run the shop vac and when i was done i would come get him. we have our own driveway. the neighbor next door, knowing i was home. knowing us & us never having an issue. instead of coming over and knocking on the door of the house or window of his truck, called 911 on my husband. he wokeup as soon as the officer pulled up. he had a warrant from a traffic ticket that actually got messed up in atlantic counties system and we actually played find the court date for it for a month. but thats another story. so of course at that point i had to shuck out $150 to bail him out so i wasnt in a wave to the neighbor who called kind of mood. so i went and bailed him out which took a good 2 hours. now back track a little, we have been staying with my grandpa in pitman nj until the renovations were done and we could move. so a construction area is no place for a 2 year old and my grandpa can not watch him by himself due to the fact he is 97. so my son went to stay with my aunt, who he would spend weekends with all the time, until the house was done so i could help as well. he went sometime in the beginning of the week before the weekend of the 11th. now, he had been to this house with us when we first bought it and occasionally when we would be dropping things off. now back to the 13th of march. this neighbor of mine was outside drinking on her porch, like always. she has been belligerent many of times in the few months we owned the property but never said nothing because it didn’t affect me or anything. and none of my business, right? so she apparently had an argument with the other lady she lives with and when that other lady went to work she camped out on her porch, drinking, as usual. so after she called on my husband, like i said we were at the police station in mays landing for 2 hours about getting all that straightened out. as soon as we got home, my husband got out of my vehicle and went straight to another neighbors house and i went into our place. i was in my demo’ed bathroom (the only thing in there was a toilet so i was using that) and i got a knock at the door. i yelled give me 5 minutes, im busy. the window of the bathroom was open and on the same side of the house as the door. about 10 seconds after i yelled that, they knocked again. and again i said please give me 5 minutes. after i was done i came to the door. no one was there. i yelled, hello who was knocking and no answer. so i went about my life . as i am standing in my hallway, i hear her on her porch on the phone talking to some authority giving my address and my husband’s name and mine. so at this point im like you’re kidding right?! so i walked over, stood on my property and said “why are u calling authorities on my family again, what the hell have we ever done to you but lend you anything u asked (lawnmower, weed wacker, etc). right at that point my husband walks over and she could not see him yet but he could see me, and she holds up the phone towards me and go “oouch , ooh my god, shes trying to attack me”. as i am literally standing there looking at her not moving on my own property. at that point the only thing me and my husband could do was laugh. so we went back to our driveway and i called the cops. they came out 3 more times that afternoon because after they left each time she would come over here yelling “bitch come fight me” standing on my property. then another she was throwing rocks at my car and house. so then about dusk rolls around and we get a knock at the door. it was DCF. now back to the knock at my door when i was in the bathroom and the authority that she was on the phone with, she was knocking to give me a dog crate and because i did not answer when she wanted, she got mad and called DCF and told them i was beating my son right before she called them and yelling “f*ck you” at him. now like i said before. MY SON WASNT EVEN HERE! now fast forward and the DCF worker is here. asking to see our house. we said ma’am no, u are going to deny this house because its down the sub floor and studs. my son has never lived here and technically we dont either. he has not been here and is not here currently. i called my aunt who proved she and kane were at her house in glassboro and had been for days. she showed up by herself that time and 2 times after that (the dcf worker). she told the court that she wasnt sure if my son was there or not when she legitimately said “ok yes, thats enough proof for me he is not here” when my aunt and kane were on the phone with her. so me and my husband have colorful pasts. waay before my son was alive. we have both graduated drugcourt out of cape may county with no sanctions out of cape may county. we have had some hiccups but our son has always been safe & loved & cared for & never neglected or in bad situations. and due to our past of almost a decade ago we need drug screens. ok cool, whatever. so my two complaints are as follows, someone should not be able to call DCF and straight LIE and get away with it. there needs to be something in place to where the call needs to be proven or the person calling needs to be screened. and she basically falsified a report and i was told tough shit. but if i called the cops and made something up id be charged? thats not right. second, we went to take our test at a place called maryville. due to sodat closing, theres no other place in gloucester county for tests and substance abuse evaluations. the lab they use to use was ammon who has a fetynol cut off of 10ng. they recently switched to another lab whos cut off is 5ng. and something fishy is going on there because every test me and my husband keep failing for that and me i have failed for a few things i dont even know what they are. but my second complaint is there should be a standard cut off for drugcourt, dcf, and all state things. if we went to a different facility, we would of passed. we had a 9ng reading. the court literally said sucks to suck, if u went to a different place yes it would of been different but u didnt. thats not right! i spoke with my old PO from drugcourt who agrees. he is going through the same thing with a client who passed at iop but failed at court all within an hr of eachother. these are 2 EXTREMELY flawed issues that need to be taken care of asap. after all this i have ptsd, i dont even wanna live in my dream of owning my own home, and i want out of NJ. now i have to live in fear of this neighbor calling again and again after this (if it ever ends) and putting me and my family in danger of being ripped apart due to a drunk and due to a 9ng of fetynol when daily users or even users of every few days a week are in the 2,000s ng & up. DCF ripped my son out of his bed and away from his parents & is tearing my family and my marriage apart! We now are two very upset lifelong nj residents who now dont even want to bring anymore children into this world, or atleast this state. Help bring this corruption to light and finally fix it!! I shouldnt be able to call on someone and make up complete lies and put their lives through years of hell and get no repercussions for lying! As well as levels should count! they count with weed and alcohol, dont they?! espeically with something as new as fetynol. no one knows what could give it a false positive. which is obvious in my case since its such a low amount. that even if we used once a week, our levels would still be higher. and the cutoff is .5 so how come we are allowed .5 in our system? what do they know that we dont? please help bring this and other situations to light! they must be stopped! i have now depleted our saving to renovate our home to lawyers and soo much more. in 4 months it is up to $6,000. That is sickening. I know I am not the only one who feels this way and by signing this we can all ban together and stop this nonsense!!!!
