Jan 19th Council Meeting

San Rafael City Councilor Kate Colin responded to the petition encouraging people concerned about traffic to attend a public study session on Thursday January 19th from 5 - 7pm in the San Rafael City Hall council chambers. This previously scheduled study session is important to attend. However it does not address the petitions requirements: (1) The city of San Rafael shall conduct 3 public hearings taking questions and input from residents prior to making any decision to approve SMART to be extended to Larkspur (2) Firm commitments fully funding a new, permanent location for the Bettini transit center are in place. (otherwise buses may park and load on city streets indefinitely) (3) The impact upon traffic on both downtown San Rafael intersections and highway 101 is properly evaluated and abated. (4) The impact of incremental congestion on greenhouse gas emissions is assessed and documented
