TO: Southampton Town Planning Board WHY: Planning Board is meeting this afternoon. On their agenda is a discussion to consider Town Board referral for extension of time of the Planned Development District. Canoe Place Inn, Canal and Eastern Properties Maritime Planned Development District (CPICEMPDD), Hampton Bays The basis of the yes or no referral is "this local law(MPDD) shall expire 36 months after the date of approval by the town board unless the appropriate planning board approvals have been obtained and substantial construction has begun." FACT: NO CONSTRUCTION HAS BEGUN. A sample letter to cut and paste NOW: RE: Town Board referral for extension of time of the Planned Development District. Canoe Place Inn, Canal and Eastern Properties Maritime Planned Development District (CPICEMPDD), Hampton Bays Dear Members of the Southampton Planning Board, I'm writing to ask you follow the intent of the law and vote no to an extension of time. NO construction has been undertaken at any of the three sites. That doesn't meet nor even come close to the definition of "Substantial". Planning Board approvals have not been granted. A revised FEIS, which we find insufficient and incomplete, that was ordered by the Courts has not been reviewed by the Judge. The reasons your board did not recommend the zone change previously have not changed. In fact, traffic congestion worsened. And no public benefit has been made clear. Please advise the Town Board not to extend the time for this Planned Development District. Thank you for your consideration. Your name Town where you live Please send via email to: Patrica Boudreau: pboudreau@southamptontownny.gov Sundy Schermeyer: sschermeyer@southamptontownny.gov and ask that your letter be forwarded to each Planning Board member and recorded in the public record
