Help Stop Animal Cruelty

Help Stop Animal Cruelty
Today animals are being tortured, killed, tested on, and neglected. Animals deserve better. A total of 834 million animals have been tortured and slaughtered in Canada. (McArthur, Jo Anne, 2021.) Canada has implemented rules against animal cruelty but unfortunately many people are still harming animals. This petition will help to prevent animal cruelty, I hope to get up to 10,000 signatures. This petition is also to spread awareness that this situation is going not only in Canada but in other parts of the world. I care about this issue because humans and animals deserve to live a peaceful life without violence and abuse.
Individual: My goal is to make everyone aware that this is going on using this petition to make change. My goal is to act upon this issue by getting support from the public and to get the attention of the government to take this issue seriously. I will make posters and send my petition to relevant blogs to spread awareness. Abuse to animals increases the crime rate and a higher chance of the person to commit criminal violence and domestic abuse.
Group: I would like you to make the public aware of this issue and that it's going on by sharing this petition with friends and family. Or even start a protest to get the attention of the people. Find as many ways as possible to help an animal in need by volunteering at an animal shelter, educating others to respect animals, and report animal cruelty or neglect.
Public: I would like the public to sign my petition, if we reach up to 500 signatures the Canadian government will be forced to issue a response. (Gilmore Rachel, 2021) My goal is to get as many signatures as possible to get the attention of the government. Do this by sharing the petition with people you know.
Government: My goal for the government is for them to do something about this issue because it is not only happening in Ontario but in many other provinces in Canada. The government should create harsher punishments for animal abuse in the criminal code.
The jail time for killing a person is given life without parole for 10 to 25 years (for 1st and second-degree murder) in Canada.
The maximum jail time for killing an animal is up to 5 years and a fine of $22,000, in Canada. (Weisberg Law, 2021)
This is unfair and why the rate of abuse is going higher.
The government has a lot of power over Canada and the citizens so they should double the jail time for animal abuse up to 10 years and 5 years without parole.
The government should also fund more charities and animal foundations. (Animal Justice etc.)
We can prevent animal abuse together if we all work together.
