Lissa Finally Meets Her Attorney — First Hearing Tomorrow

After nearly a month in detention, Lissa was finally able to meet with her attorney, Ami Hutchinson, for the first time today. It’s been a long, difficult road — not just emotionally, but physically and spiritually too.

From the moment ICE detained her, Lissa was denied even the most basic care: no bed, no food, no water, and no medication for over 24 hours at the Los Angeles ICE office. The conditions at Eloy Detention Center haven’t been much better — poor water quality, barely edible food, and a sense of isolation that no one deserves to face. No due process. No answers. Just waiting.

Her first hearing is scheduled for tomorrow, June 12th, where the court officially announces the case. The real decision will come later in what’s called the Individual Hearing — a crucial moment that determines her fate.

Despite everything going on in the world, let’s lead with compassion. Riots won’t solve this, but awareness and unified voices will. This petition stands for something larger for every human, immigrant or not, mother, artist, caregiver, and community leader who could face this same hardship and injustice.

Thank you for standing with Lissa.

Please continue to share her story and this petition:
