Protecting farmland and greenfield site from housing developments and commercial projects is a major cause of  public concern focused as food security, environmental preservation, and saving rural heritage is essential. The  changing climate along with  the loss of prime farmland together with increased flood risk only heightens the importance. There is no 'planet B 'as they say  and once fields and hedgerows are torn up they are gone forever.

This is yet another cynical financially driven scheme proposed outside the local plan for 2000 new homes between the villages of Clyst St George, Clyst St Mary & Woodbury Salterton  that will be anything but affordable and for which the infrastructure is simply inadequate. 

The potential profits are huge so the developer will spends £000,000s and getting reports 'spun' to support it ( Like surveying for bats after they have sprayed the fields to kill the insects.. ) They have produced circa 150 documents already .. 

If approved it will remove forever yet more farmland and increase congestion, pollution and flooding not to mention swamp small rural communities and villages. 

This scheme may only affect a few more Devon villages but the trend and the pattern needs to be stopped before it's too late for our countryside and indeed our country as a whole.
