This petition is to show support and to prove that there is a genuine local need for the skatepark situated on Sherborn Crescent to be modernised and redeveloped. 

The new skatepark will be a free-to-use, safe, inclusive and family orientated sports facility for users of all ages. Professionally design and constructed concrete skatepark will help bring the area up to a 21st century standard! 

The current skatepark is situated within the
grounds of Sherborne open space and had been there for at least 20 years. The current facility has fallen into disrepair due to it being unmaintained and a hot bed for antisocial behaviour. As such it doesn’t provide an adequate wheeled sports area for local riders. 

The aims of the project are to:

To create a high quality skatepark for Canford Heath, improving existing facilities and providing completely new types of facilities.

To have a secure sustainable facilities for skate and bike sports in Canford Heath for the future.

To actively involve future users in the design,
development, promotion and management of the facility and the sports involved.

Attract more individuals to skate and bike sports, particularly young people and people from deprived communities, with currently poor access to facilities for these sports.

Help increase usage of Sherboure Cresent skatepark, and contribute to the associated benefits of this in health and wellbeing, crime reduction and community safety, and economic development.
