Hi my name is Shelvin Chand, I came to Canada in September 2019, to visit my sister. After 2020, I was going to return to Fiji but, due to covid, I had stay. During this period, I needed money to support myself. I was offered work as a siding installer and promised to give me LMIA to have a legal worker status in Canada to work.
Last month October 2021, the company’s owner took me and some other colleagues to Canada USA border to visit. His main intention was to get us deported. As the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) started to do a profile search, the border agent told there is not a single application done under my name. I learnt that my former employer had forged the documents that he gave to me saying I got my LMIA. My former employer told me that I can work here legally and gave me pay with the tax deduction of 17% but that was lie from him. My former employer pocketed all those pay taxes to him. Now, CBSA is pursuing my case and is looking to deport me. I am fighting for justice here; I've applied for permanent residency under humanitarian grounds. Please help me by signing this petition.
