It’s been 3 weeks since our last update, and so much has happened in that time.
I’m proud to share that I’ve officially founded a certified Charitable Nonprofit Corporation called the GLP-1 Collective! This milestone builds on the momentum of this petition and lays the foundation for work that will continue long after it. Our mission is to make GLP-1 medications affordable and accessible for everyone who needs them.
We’ve also been hard at work building resources for the community:
- Support Groups: A welcoming space for people to connect and share their journeys.
- Educational Tools: Collaborations with doctors to add trusted resources to the website.
- Our Blog: A place for people to submit and share their personal stories.
- GLP-1 Workshops: Upcoming sessions with licensed professionals offering guidance and support.
In other news, the FDA returned to court yesterday regarding compounded tirzepatide. A preliminary injunction was issued, extending its availability for now. This is a critical step for patients relying on compounded options, but the long-term fight for access continues.
I also want to thank you all. Your comments and videos have carried me through the tough moments and reminded me why this work matters. Thanks to your support in sharing this petition, we’re approaching 20,000 signatures, an incredible achievement in just two months.
At this stage, donations are more important than ever to cover the startup costs we’ve been paying out of pocket. We’re in the process of filing for tax-exempt status, and while donations aren’t yet tax-deductible, they may qualify retroactively once approval comes through.
We’re also looking for volunteers 💪. If you’d like to join in, contribute, or get involved, you can reach out to me directly or find details at GLP1Collective.org.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we’re building a future where access to care isn’t a privilege, it’s a guarantee. ♥️
