I know that this topic is distressing for many, as I too have had sleepless nights worrying about it. If I am lucky enough to sleep I wake with a racing heartbeat and then race to their rooms to ensure that they are still there, safe and asleep.

A parent should not have to worry, suffer anxiety that they are safe in their own home as a result of trauma they have suffered in a place that they should also be kept safe and educated (School.) Waking in the morning wondering if you are going to be able to still talk to them or give them a hug.

This needs to stop, for all kids currently experiencing this type of abuse at school and before it happens to others. We need to prevent it so those that are yet to experience are not subjected to it.

The way that we as a community can stand up and make the Government take action is by talking about it and not shying away, putting our heads in the sand and pretending it is not happening. It is!

Currently both major parties are not discussing it as it should be, one is playing it down and deflecting and the other is missing in action.

Here is some more information from a student and other stories that support that this behaviour is continuing with the schools continuing to lack action.
