

Despite pleas to the City, an approval was granted for a large, burgeoning and for profit housing project that would disregard the City's own bylaws. Recommendations to scale down to a smaller, more realistic size were simply ignored. Existing regulations to safeguard all residents are being brushed aside.
The local community would welcome the addition of a housing development of reasonable size, which respects a balance with historical standards for safety and proportionality. That is the objective of our opposition movement. We are not NIMBYs (Not In My Backyard). Much needed housing should not be a political football.
An appeal has been filed with the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT), based largely on the City's failure of its due diligence.
