The developer has submitted a revised proposal to the City. It has been softened a bit but is still the same dangerous plan for our community. Despite the rosy publicity, the owners have far more profit motive, than a sense of community service. For details see link https://devapps.ottawa.ca/en and search on 360 Kennedy Lane.
Important to note:
1) Height has been decreased for Blocks 5 and 8 from 3 storeys to 2 storeys
2) Issues with drainage have been "addressed", however, as a result of the solution decided upon to address the drainage, more trees will have to be removed than were identified in the original submission.
While there is no deadline by which comments need to be submitted, the City recommends that comments should be sent in within the next week or two so that they can be incorporated in the staff reports going to Council. Please send your comments, ASAP, to City Planner Lucy Ramirez at lucy.ramirez@ottawa.ca or use the send feedback link. She can also be reached by phone at 613-580-2424 extension 23808. We also encourage you to contact Councillor Matt Luloff at phone 613-580-2471 or by email at Matt.Luloff@ottawa.ca
This revised proposal comes in the wake of the Province's decision to relax some restrictions on multi-story housing. This could be good news for housing developers, who construct new multi-story dwellings in areas that are appropriate. Our neighbourhood is not !!
