Since the last update a lot of activity has transpired, mostly not in our favor. To quickly recap, at the last meeting the commissioners asked both parties to combine efforts and work out an agreeable solution. In good faith the SSSS Executive Committee met to develop a compromised version of the park plan. SSSS’s proposed new plan; reduces the number of boat slips from 71 down to 50, increases the parking spaces from 270 to 384, and also eliminates the proposed drop off circle, which we know will be a disastrous bottleneck. SSSS submitted this plan and the opposition promised a reply by Wednesday, April 24th, which did not happen. It became obvious that they were purposely delaying their response in order to limit our ability to respond to their anticipated unfavorable counter offer. When we received their response, our amended plan was rejected entirely, again without discussion. Meanwhile, the opposition released a press release on April 27th in the local paper stating that they were actively working with us, in cooperation, which was a gross misstatement of the facts. Additionally, we have discovered discrepancies with the opposition misrepresenting what they called “sponsors" of their plan. Already, several on the sponsor list have come forward indicating that they do not sponsor the oppositions plan. Thank you for you help and participation!!! Get you friends to sign the petition. There is still time.
