I hope you are enjoying this special week - have any of you been able to do anything particularly hedgehoggy? Would be great to share what you have been up to - and while the comments below here are okay, for those of you sucked into the world of Facebook - the Hedgehog Highways group on there is a great space to share thoughts and experiences.

I have been busy - spreading the word about the petition - about hedgehog highways in general - and have a couple of late additions to the events page ... Chris Packham and Megan McCubbin have invited me back to talk on the Self-Isolating Nature programme - Tomorrow morning (that is Thursday 7th May) at 0900 ... it is streamed on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube - and the link I have shared also takes you to the archive. This is a great opportunity - and I hope that we get the total number of signatures up to 700,000!

The final late addition to the calendar ... is from a very unlikely place - but I have been asked to present a talk called Rebellious Hedgehogs to the Extinction Rebellion world ... it is a zoom event, live tomorrow (Thursday) at 1600 BST - and will require you to log into a Zoom (I am probably the last person to do this ... my wife is on them all the time ... I feel a little out of my depth.) But apparently it is straightforward - you follow the link which should take you to a meeting with the ID: 812 1179 8661 - and then you use this password: 203727 ... good luck getting there (and wish me luck doing it!) - it will also be streamed on XR-UK Facebook and Twitter.

There is still more Hedgehog Awareness Week goodness going on at Hedgehog Central - check the BHPS social media streams on Twitter and Facebook for details.

And finally - the picture - my friend Debbie Lomas has been rather taken by the complications of life as a hedgehog - in particular the problem that comes with generous feeding by us lot and the restrictions of a 13cm hole!!! There is a serious point in all of this ... we do not fully understand what impact supplementary feeding has on hedgehogs. We know it is crucial to filling in the gaps in natural provision, but we don't know whether there is such a thing as 'too much'! Yet more research to be done.

oh - by way of a ps - here are links to a few of the recordings I have made for this week - just in case you have not had enough hedgehog in your life!

Robin Ince - I am not on until 46 minutes into the show - but it is good fun!

And that should be it!!! Keep safe and remember - hedgehogs should not be made to self-isolate ... get those highways built!
