Help residents charge Electronic Vehicles with safe cross pavement charging

Help residents charge Electronic Vehicles with safe cross pavement charging
The Issue
The issue:
If you live in Ealing and own or are thinking about owning an electric car, you can not charge from home unless you have a driveway. This is because Ealing Council prohibits safe cross-pavement charging.
There are several safe pavement charging solutions available on the market.
The solutions are actively encouraged by the national government with a £350 subsidy.
The following local authorities have adopted or are trialing safe cross-pavement solutions:
Bromley
- Reading
- Buckinghamshire
- Solihull
- Cherwell
- Nottinghamshire
- Milton Keynes
- West Berkshire
- Central Bedfordshire
- Surrey
- Stirling
- Halton
- Oxfordshire
- Durham
Who is affected:
Anyone who plans to move to an electronic vehicle and lives in Ealing.
Why is now the time to act:
- Electronic vehicles are growing in popularity. By 2035 all new cars will be electric
- Approx 50% of Ealing houses have no on-street parking
- Multiple other councils encourage EV adoption with cross-pavement solutions
- The government will give you a £350 subsidy if you install a safe cross-pavement solution.
- "Public" chargers (run by private companies) are grossly overpriced this is because Ealing actively prevents home charging, whilst giving 3 private companies a charging monopoly in the borough.
Solutions exist to solve this problem however Ealing Council are blocking residents from using them.
