On Sunday, 9 June 2024, I took my beloved cat to the vets. Upon entering, we faced a £300 fee and they hadn’t even done anything yet. Later that morning, I discovered my cat had been hit by a car and may not make it. This experience made me realize how difficult it is for less fortunate families to afford necessary care for their pets.

Veterinary costs have skyrocketed in recent years, making it nearly impossible for many pet owners to provide essential medical care. According to the American Pet Products Association (APPA), Americans spent over $31 billion on veterinary care in 2020 alone. High costs force families into heartbreaking decisions about their pets' health.
