Help Reading Partners make the literacy crisis a topic in the March 15 presidential debate

Help Reading Partners make the literacy crisis a topic in the March 15 presidential debate
The Issue
Please sign our petition and join us in asking CNN and Univision to include a question about early literacy education in their presidential debate to be held on March 15.
The national 2020 election conversation is in full swing, with candidates from across all party lines making their top issues clear. Alarmingly absent in the dialogue is the literacy crisis our nation is facing.
The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) scores show that only 35% of US fourth graders are reading at grade level—and only 21% of economically disadvantaged fourth graders. Research shows that students who are not reading at grade level by fourth grade are four times less likely to graduate on time.
Reading Partners wants to know how candidates plan to address this literacy crisis in the US, so please help us make reading a priority in 2020.
