Help show the desire for sustainable agriculture and family farm support

The Issue

Agriculture in the United States relies heavily on factory farming. This not only negatively impacts our environment, but it is not sustainable longterm, and it disincentivizes small farms such as family farms and midsize farms, which are the lifeblood of rural communities. The number of farms in the United States is sharply decreasing year by year. It is taking rural communities with it, as their backbone has been agriculture. This will only create more overcrowding in our cities and worsening already poor living conditions.

If we do not support legislature that changes the way that farming and raising of livestock in our country works, we may be at risk of losing not only jobs but the ability to support our societies in the future. Factory farms hurt our ecosystems and thousands of animals while leaving us wholly dependent on the food they supply us with. This would not be the case if we sourced our food from many smaller farms. We could do less harm to our environment while still meeting our needs, and support many workers.

Acting now is as simple as signing this petition, contacting your local representatives and asking them for their support. Taking just a few moments out of your day is enough to secure hope for the future. If we show our commitment to our environment and the impact we leave, we can make sustainable agriculture a forefront issue.

Thank you for your time and support.
