This is a pivotal moment for our community—and your presence could be what tips the scale.

On Tuesday, April 15 at 4:00 PM, the Newport Beach City Council will decide whether to place the removal of 1501 E. 16th Street from the Housing Element on a future agenda. This is the critical first step in getting it officially removed from the Housing Element.

We need as many supporters as possible at this meeting to show how much this matters. To make our presence known, we’ll be wearing ENC shirts. If you’d like to wear one in solidarity, they’re available for just $5 at the ENC gift shop.

Supporters will have the opportunity to speak during public comments (up to three minutes if you choose), but even if you don’t speak, simply being there sends a strong and unified message.

Our item is expected to come up early in the meeting, so we recommend arriving a few minutes before 4:00 PM to get seated and settled.

To prepare:

  • Visit encenter.org/take-action for key talking points
  • Review the petition to familiarize yourself with the community’s concerns and goals

Let’s show up and make it clear: we care about protecting our schools, our children, and the Environmental Nature Center.

Meeting Details:
Date: Tuesday, April 15
Time: Please arrive before 4:00 PM
Location: City Hall — 100 Civic Center Drive, Newport Beach
