The Issue

The Crouch Valley is a local area of outstanding beauty, an open landscape on the North or South side of the River Crouch Estuary comprising of farmland, grassland, vineyards and small villages.

It is now under threat from a large development submitted to Maldon District Council.  The site is:

Land South of Fambridge Road, Burnham Road and East West of Station Road Althorne Essex.  Ref: 22/00314/OUTM

From South Woodham Ferrers to Burnham on Crouch there is no large scale development South of Lower Burnham Road/Fambridge Road/Burnham Road (B1010/1012).

This proposed new large development will sit in the heart of the Crouch Valley Region.  The overbearing nature of proposal with it's houses, school and industrial units on such a low lying area, that is visible from the higher slopes of the valley, coastal footpaths and river will be a tragic Loss of Public Visual Amenity.  The described benefits by the applicant does not outweigh the loss of one of Essex's most Beautiful Coastal Landscapes.

Please look at the plans and if you agree . . .

Submit your objections to: dc.planning@maldon.gov.uk making sure you quote the site & reference as above.  Many voices will count.

Sign this petition: it will be an immediet reference to how many people object to the development.

Speak to friends, your Parish Council, District Council, County Council & MP.

The countryside is being paved over, losing 80,000 acres year to development a year.

There needs to be a fundimental change on planning policy with more protection of our rural landscape.  It is too late when the beauty, life and food has gone . . . replaced by bricks, concrete and street lights.
