Hi everyone!

I hope you’re all settling back in to normal working life after having a lovely Christmas time break.

London Fashion Week is less than a month away now, and although my petition has started a lot of discussions and raised a lot of awareness, nothing has really changed.

There is nothing legally binding as far as workers rights are concerned - there is no immediate pay scheme where models are guaranteed to be paid money owed to them during a certain time period (often more than six months at the moment), there are no private changing areas for models back stage at fashion shows - meaning anyone from the likes of photographers, stylists, assistants, students etc can easily watch models getting undressed. There is no legitimate safety or support network in place where models can feel comfortable to speak about the pressures of the industry, or their concerns for their careers.

The slack amount of effort put in place falls down to the fact that the British Fashion Council is unwilling to try fix the fashion industry here in London. They are the ultimate source of funding for London Fashion Week and therefor hold most of the power when it comes to these basic human rights being enforced. They are just not wanting to put in the effort.

I have now changed the direction of my petition to be aimed at Caroline Rush - the head of the British Fashion Council.

If you have a spare moment I’d love if you could show your support by sharing my petition on twitter, this way Caroline will be notified and hopefully she, and the British Fashion Council, will slowly take responsibility for their impact on LFW here in London.

Thank you all so so so much!

Lots of love

Rosie
