Dear Readers this petition was made to help Popmart fix the issues with their main issues with “Labubus”. If you are not aware. “Labubu” is a “Hello Kitty” like creature and character made by the beloved Hong Kong born artist, Kasing Lung as part of his series called “The Monsters” that is inspired by Nordic mythology and legends, “Labubu” being the one and most popular character. “Labubu” has not only grown in popularity but has had multiple merchandise and etc. made, the most recent and popular being a vinyl faced keychain plushies or non-keychain plushies. The problem stemming from this however is that obtaining one of these usually $27.99 keychains have become almost impossible to get.   With the “hype” surrounding these keychains. Thief, counterfeits made with lead or other usual iffy chemicals, scalpers will buy all and sell at high prices and sometimes even outside Popmart stores, bots, higher “supply and demand” prices and even Popmart employees quitting their jobs or highly upset consumers have been high rocketing due to the it. As I have watched this get worse and out of control. I am offering this petition to sign and send into Popmart, so that they may fix this problem and it’s customers are heard. My solution is that Popmart enacts a “One per customer” policy for when any new and “hyped up” merchandise is dropped, and especially with “Labubus”. With two being the maximum number of purchases with the “Labubus” keychain blind boxes and to sell “sets” either with security to get rid of bots or “one set per purchase” or just not sell any sets until the “hype” has been completely controlled. Not to mention the highly requested “better manufacturing security” to help Popmart keep their business alive while bootleggers run amok and so people can have a legit “Labubu” than a iffy, chemical made knockoffs or as the hobbyists call it “Lafufus”.

 With things already being expensive and now people breaking into vehicles or flat out stealing from people to obtain a “Labubu”. I do think this is a safer and more appropriate way to not only help Popmart with their problems, but to save Kasing Lung’s “Labubu” from becoming a hated character and merchandise. -Sincerely Ms. Vlaminck
