In 2020 Covid caused the shut down of indoor dining in Philadelphia. Restaurants were given the opportunity to add seating on the sidewalk, along with expanding and building "streeteries" in parking spaces. The Devil's Den, which has bene a fixture in South Philly for over 15 years, was able to survive the pandemic with the addition of the streetery.  We were able to keep over half of our team employed throughout the pandemic with the additional seats our streetery allowed for.  Indoor seating has not bounced back and restaurants are still struggling to stay in busness. City council has allowed certain areas to keep their streeteries but others, like the Devil's Den, do not fall in the zoned areas and need to apply for permission to keep our outdoor dining area.
